| Hey
all!
Thanks for
visiting my little place on the web. I’m just a southern gal
from North Carolina who happens to love rockabilly music,
clothes, and most
of all the great greasers and Bettie’s out there. What I’m
trying to do is create a site with all the links a hep cat
could possibly ever need. If you don’t find what you’re
looking for here, then email me and I’ll do my best to help
you find it. I’m always open to suggestions and am happy to
add your links. While I do the information gathering and
research, I have to give credit to my most excellent web
master (and hubby), Mark, who does most of the actual web
work. I do most of the updates now, so feel free to
email me if you know of a cool site I don't have listed.
This summer was a
blast!. I kicked it off with our big June show,
the Rockabilly
BBQ, which was bigger and better with tons of great people
and yummy BBQ. Then, I went to the Smoke
Out chopper show for two days of bikes, babes, music and
beer. It was so nice to meet so many cool people.
A trip to Winston Salem for Heavy Rebel was hot, hot, hot, but
catching up with friends worth it. I just got back from
Baltimore from the MobTown
Greaseball where the hot rods, bands and cool folks made
the trip well worth it! We're gearing up around here for
the Honky
Tonk Heartbreak, another Rockabilly Babe promotion.
I've had to take my photos page down temporarily, sorry!
I'm working on getting some more up, so please bear with me.
Favorite Bands: Elvis, Two Dollar
Pistols, Hank Williams Sr., Hotrod Lincoln, Jem Crossland and
the Hypertonics, BR549, BSO, The Tremors, Patsy Cline,
Halden Wofford and the Highbeams, and Wanda Jackson.
Hobbies:
Playing with Hank IV, Patsy and my newest baby
Calamity Jane (my rescued dogs), shopping for vintage
clothing, accessories and home decor, working in my flower
garden and in the yard, creating a bird-friendly habitat for
all the birds who frequent my feeders and birdbath,
reading (ANYTHING from vintage pulp fiction to non-fiction to
magazines), enjoying a cold beer, surfing the web, listening
to live music, working on my 1926 house and watching NFL
football (Go Panthers and GOOD LUCK Redskins!).
Dislikes: People who mistreat
animals, ironing, a bad meal, Suckabilly, not living up to my
potential each day, mean people, paying too much for beer,
paying taxes, poor cell phone etiquette or poor etiquette in
general, people who disrespect our elders and most vegetables.
Likes: Las Vegas, laying in bed drinking
coffee on Sunday mornings watching old movies on TCM,
gambling, getting off work early, a great martini, ice cold
beer, spring in the south, vintage clothes, my family - furry
and otherwise, a clean house, shopping, spending money and the
feeling I get at the end of the day knowing I did my job well.
About Me: My name is Lisa and I was born January
7, 1972. As a true southern gal, I love and keep close touch
with my family. I live in North Carolina just north of
Charlotte with my husband Mark, my cats: Shoebox and Sailor
and my dogs: Hank IV, Patsy and Calamity Jane. Since I
don't have any real artistic talents of my own, I enjoy
promoting those who do through my site and by putting on the Rockabilly
BBQ and the Honky
Tonk Heartbreak. I love making new friends and seeing
people having a good time listening to great music. The latest
project around has been a 60s
camper we bought and have restored. Okay, Mark's
done most of the work, but I help provide the cash and even
carved a tiki head for the outside of the camper. And if
this isn’t enough evidence, I like to talk and socialize.
Thanks for dropping by!
