Return to Home Page
Productivity is a statistic that helps determine the effectiveness of a
player on the court.
Player productivity is calculated by using the following
parameters and weights:
| Point Scored | 1 | Charge Taken | 1
|
| Offensive Rebound | 1.5 | Turn Over | -1
|
| Defensive Rebound | 1 | Missed Shot | -1
|
| Steal | 1 | Personal Foul | -1
|
| Blocked Shot | 1 | Offensive Foul | -1
|
| Assist | 1 | Technical Foul | -2
|
Player Productivity is greatly affected by:
- Playing Time
- Points Scored
- Position Played
- Assigned Role
The program we use to do our statistics does a good job of counting events on
the court.
It does NOT do a good job of evaluating.
Hustle, Effort, Leadership and Teamwork DO NOT show up in the calculations.
What a player does with the ball is important to the outcome of the game.
However, what they do when they do not have the ball,
Is equally important to the success of the team!
The TEAM Productivity number is the sum of the Productivity for all of the players.
