Course Description:

Have you ever wondered how you'll use English after high school? Join this semester-long class for some "real-world" explorations of language arts. Y ou will create your own imaginary business and then do all the writing, speaking and reading necessary for it, including projects like TV commercials, advertising campaigns, mock interviews, technical documentation, market analysis reports, memos, letters, email and much, much more. We'll also use books, movies, speakers and the news to discuss current issues in the business world. You'll leave this class with a portfolio of work that you can show to prospective employers OR to college admission officers to convince them that you are the type of skilled, hard-working person they will want. Open to juniors and seniors only. Prerequisites: Living with Technology and Working with Technology.

As this website is right in the middle of a re-design, these pages will be appearing over the next few weeks. Even after they appear, though, on many of the pages, you'll see words that appearing in red print. Those are "to be added" links - pages which will eventually give detailed instructions and provide additional links to resources for the particular assignment highlighted. Eventually, this website will essentially serve as an interactive textbook for our BTE class -- but this particular class and its related webpages are still in the "design" phase and has yet to be taught.

Suggestions are very welcome.
