Spartanburg Knitting Guild

Hello everyone,

If you had a chance to look at our newsletter, you'll see 2 charities we would like to focus on this year.  We have found by only choosing 1 or 2 charities that it helps us accomplish more.

SAFE HOMES in Spartanburg

These are for abused, battered women and children. Many of them are taken from their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. We thought by knitting a pretty wash cloth and soap bag (containing a nice bar of soap) would help them know that someone cares.  Please help us with this project. You will see patterns for these sets in our newsletter or you can find them on ravelry. These can be knit or crocheted.

You can click on this link to read all about this initiative. You HAVE TO USE THE YARN AND COLORS THEY SPECIFY.  This year you can use RED HEART SOFT, which is a wonderful yarn.  We'll try to have some of this yarn to show. These can be knit or crocheted.

We are focusing on knitting these for South Carolina but you can also knit them for your home state. Cathy Grooms says we can watch the states on the web site and see who needs them. If South Carolina gets what they need, maybe we can check out a state that is in dire need of them and help them out.

We thank you for all your help with these projects.  You can always leave them at North Woods to be collected.
Thank you!
