Tutor Training Workshop

The Janesville Literacy Council, Inc needs caring, responsible volunteer adults to mentor and tutor. A few hours of your time each week will make a world of difference to someone who can't read, write, or speak English. The Janesville Literacy Council, Inc need caring, responsible volunteer adults to mentor and tutor.

Qualifications: Patience, commitment, and a desire to help others. A teaching background is NOT required.

Commitment: Tutors must complete the 14-hour workshop to prepare them for tutoring. The JLC recommends that tutors and students meet twice a week for 1-2 hours each session. This tutoring is done at the convenience of the tutor and student including evenings, daytimes…whatever works best. Tutors and students do take breaks for vacations, holidays and commitments.

  1. October 14th, 16th, 21st and 23rd from 1:00 - 4:30 PM
The workshops are free. We do ask that you become a member of the Janesville Literacy Council. The cost is $25 a year. We have a student waiting for you. Please contact the office to sign up or receive more information at: 756-3125 or email at info@janesvilleliteracycouncil.org
