Field Trips
The children enjoy all of our field trips: Potter Park Zoo, Uncle John's Cider Mill, The Michigan Museum, Library, Impression Five Science Museum and any other interesting trips that become available.
Potter Park Zoo 2009 Potter Park Zoo entrance, enjoying our picnic lunch, the reptile building is one of the favorites, it's always fun to feed the llamas, the lion looks so soft and cuddly, whenever we find a place to pose we do so. The coral reef display is really interesting and we saw Nemo, the camels are resting, can't go to the zoo without visiting the concession stand and gift shop.

Uncle Johns Cider Mill 2008 Uncle Johns Cider Mill is another favorite fall activity. We listen while Johnny Appleseed tells his life story then we go on wagon ride through the Halloween decorations and scenery. We love the fresh pressed apple cider and pumpkin donuts. It's hard to see but we are dancing with the skeleton who is sitting at the player piano. Before we leave we all get to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Other activities are also available for our fun and enjoyment.

The Michigan Historical Museum offers you Michigan's rich past, from the time of the state's earliest peoples to the late 20th century. The Michigan Historical Museum offers five levels of permanent and changing exhibits that tell the story of Michigan's past from precontact through the late 20th century. Exhibits include interactive computers, audio-visual presentations and hands-on elements. The Michigan Historical Museum features a dramatic four-story atrium (pictured above) and a three-story-high topographical map of the state.

Traveling through Michigan's past. We enjoy looking in the log cabin and looking at the state map. In the Music history we get to pose as a rock star and dance to the tunes of the oldies. There are a lot of other interesting areas in the museum including what houses use to look like inside from the 1800's to the 1900's. Before we left, we got to add to a paper quilt that all visitors were adding squares to.

We love the hands on science museum, so many things to experience and learn. Giant mirror bubbles, musical instruments, challenges, human body facts, dinosaur dig, water flow, radio broadcasting, and of course making slime! Using a variety of different wands, you can make free floating bubbles from our super-soapy bubble solution. See if you can make one bigger than your head! Or maybe you can stick your hand inside of a bubble without breaking it! Don't forget to dry your hands under the hand dryer before you leave the Bubble Room!
