Major Graham Daves when a First Lieutenant CSA

Resting in the rectitude of our past, honoring our dead, and fulfilling every present obligation, we are content to await the coming of that day of justice and reconciliation.  And should some unco-righteous brother denounce us as "rebels" and brand as "treason" political belief and acts older than our government itself, we may point to the tombs of the Revolutionary patriots, Francis Nash and Joseph Warren, of Edward Buncombe and William Davidson, who taught us "rebellion"-and died in teaching us-and make answer:  "Every tree is known by his own fruit."  The land that gave the "rebels" George Washington and Patrick Henry, Richard Caswell and Jethro Sumner to lead and counsel the men who we commemorate in centennial celebrations, gave also in these latter days Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, Alexander Stephens and John C. Breckinridge, Leonidas Polk and Albert Sidney Johnston, worthy sons of noble sires.

Major Graham Daves in a speech delivered in 1901 from The Southern Historical Papers Compatriots,

**Walter Clark, ed., Histories of the Several Regiments and Battalions from North Carolina in the Great War, 1861-65, Vol. 2 (1901).

Important Notice

There has been a significant change in the designation for General Society Dues.  This change is merely in the way dues are designated and not in the basic dues structure.  Members who are current for the 2007-2008 fiscal year will now be shown with the last half of the year.  For example, a member who is current will be shown as 2008 (meaning that dues will have to be paid again Before the end of December of 2008)

This change has been made to Alabama Society records as well.
