Skill Ranks

  • Gatherer
  • The lowest skill rank in the GBG Division. Usually someone with none or little experience with GBG, especially Multiplayer games.
  • Frontersman - Tech Level 1 (equals Naval Pewter Wings)
  • A player who understands the basics of the game such as micro-managing, defending and attacking. This skill rank can be given by all Assistant and Full Instructors. The test for this skill level is to play one game with anybody and show that you understand the basics of the game.
  • Cheiftian - Tech Level 2 (equals Naval Copper Wings)
  • The Chieftain is already familiar with GBG MP. He is able to Boom and Rush correctly as well as fighting against these strategies and also knows how to play with allies and in FFA. This skill rank can be awarded by a single Full Instructor after take a test which consists of another Tech Level One member and defeating him twice. Memebers with Tech Level 2 can be guest instructors.
  • Field Marshall - Tech Level 3 (equals Naval Silver Wings)
  • A skilled player in GBG and one of the best in the NRN. A great adversary regardless of which civilization or game type who dominates all strategies for the game and also comes up with strategies of its own. This skill rank can be awarded by 2 Full instructors and has to be reviewed by the Academy CO (via recorded game)after defeating two Tech Level 2 players (playing 2 vs. 1) and winning.
  • Generalissimo - Tech Level 4 (equals Naval Gold Wings)
  • A real expert of the game, a true strategist with vast experience in the game who achieves almost certainly victory and who can overcome come odds like playing alone against two or more players. This skill rank has to be approved by three Full Instructors including the Academy CO and only after defeating three Tech Level 3 players (3 vs. 1) and winning.
  • All games played for skill rank testing & promotion have to be recorded so the Academy Director can review them later (even if it’s not necessary = tech level 1 and 2)
