Applying For a Library Card:

Library cards are free in the state of Wisconsin. When applying for your new card, Wisconsin residents must present a valid driver's license, Wisconsin ID or proof of current residential address.

Library cards are renewed annually. There is no fee for renewal. A $2.00 fee is charged for replacement of lost or damaged cards.

Children may apply for a library card when they reach six years old. A parent/guardian must sign their registration card stating they are responsible for that child's library fines and returning library materials. Not complying with these requirements may lead to local and state criminal penalties.

Out-of-State residents will be charged a one-time fee of $10.00.

Acceptable forms of identification include the following:

Driver's license showing current address

Wisconsin ID

Utility, telephone or water bill

All other library materials are .10 per item, per day. Fines begin the day following the due date and cannot be renewed on the MORE web. Please call the library to renew materials that are in "overdue" status.

Patron accounts will be blocked by the system when the fines reach or exceed $10.00.

Overdue notices will be sent around the 15th and 30 day of each month. Over due notices will be sent by mail, unless specified by email. A replacement bill will be sent after the third overdue notice.

Renewals/Notices:

Automated Telephone Renewal Service is now available for patrons!
Call toll-free 1-866-697-3639 or 1-866- MYRENEW

This service allows a patron to:

Renew items before they are due.
Hear a listing of titles you have checked-out.
Hear a listing of "holds" the patrons has placed and their ranking.
Find out the status of outstanding charges (fines etc.).

Very Important:

When renewing items currently checked-out, have the last four digits of the barcode (on the item) handy when you call. The automated calling will ask that you give these numbers in order to renew.

A patron will only be allowed to renew items that are not overdue. Once the item is in overdue status, the system will not allow renewal. Please call your library for help if your items are overdue (962-4334), or stop by your local library.

Items which have "holds" placed by another patron, will not be renewed due to fairness of fulfilling the item request.

Stay on the phone line! If you choose to renew all your items, you must acknowledge each title. If you hang up before the end of the list, the other items will not be renewed.

COMING SOON

In the future, you may request that your notices for overdue items and for holds that are ready for pick-up, be sent to you by TNS (Telephone Notification System) or by email.
