Week of 1/6/00: puck      puck       puck        puck         puck          puck
  • Sunday, January 16 - Although losing by a score of 2 -1 to first place Midstate #4, Triboro played one of their best games of the season in the National Youth Hockey League. After applying constant pressure in the Triboro end, Midstate was finally able to get on the board just past the midway point of the second period. Triboro then picked their game up and began to apply their own offensive pressure in Midstate's end. At the 7:19 mark of the third period, John would tie the game for Triboro after hard work to keep the puck in Midstate's zone by Jordan and Seth, who earned assists on the play. Unfortunately, Midstate would get the go ahead goal with only a few minutes remaining in the game. The Triboro players didn't give up and had their chances but came up just short. The defensive play of Marc, Kevin, Maeve and Kyle was outstanding, as was the offensive work from Katelyn, Matt, Graeham, Molly, John, Jordan and Seth. The goaltending of Andrew and Arthur, as usual, was top notch.

Week of 1/9/00: puck      puck       puck        puck         puck          puck
  • Sunday, January 9 - In their first game of the New Year, Triboro #4 skated to a 1 - 1 tie against a hard working Demons #3 team at the Northstar Youth Forum. Kevin opened the scoring for Triboro early in the first period with assists from Katelyn and Marc. Unfortunately, the Demons would get the equalizer Midway through the second period. Triboro continued to pressure the Demons but could not get the go-ahead goal by their hot goalie. Fortunately, Triboro's goaltenders, Andrew and Arthur, were also having great games of their own (with Arthur keeping the Demons off the board for the second half of the game).
  • Saturday, January 15 - For the third time this season, Triboro #4 skated to a 0 - 0 tie at the Northstar Youth Forum against Tri-Valley #3. The two previous scoreless games were against Midstate #5. Both teams had numerous opportunities to score throughout the game with Triboro's best chances coming late in the third period. Twice in the waning minutes of the game it seemed Triboro would get on the board but apparent goals by Jordan and Maeve were disallowed. Arthur and Andrew were superb in goal, each making game saving stops and fully deserving of their tandem shutout.

Week of 1/23/00: puck      puck       puck        puck         puck          puck
  • Saturday, January 29 - Triboro suffered a tough 2-1 loss in the National Youth Hockey League to a hard skating Franklin team that Triboro should have little trouble beating. Maybe it was the two-week layoff or the late night starting time, but for whatever reason, Triboro just seemed to be standing around for most of the game. The only positives of the game were Kyle's end to end rush scoring Triboro's only goal (assists to Molly and Jordan) and the goal tending of Arthur and Andrew, who kept Triboro in the game all the way to the end.

Week of 1/30/00: puck      puck       puck        puck         puck          puck
  • Sunday, January 30 - Rebounding from the previous night's loss, Triboro played a much stronger game, earning a tie against first place Medfield #3 at the Northstar Youth Forum. After falling behind late in the first period, John (assisted by Maeve) made it 1-1, scoring only seconds before the buzzer to end the period. Medfield regained the lead midway through the second period. Early in the final stanza, John netted his second goal of the game, assisted by the hard work of line mates Jon and Jordan. Andrew and Arthur were stellar in net, each allowing only one goal apiece, while making many outstanding saves.

This was a particularly gratifying tie. The only reason Medfield #3 is in first place is because they pull up Squirt "A" and sometimes "B" players to round out their roster. Medfield claims they do this because they only have nine skaters on their team. The first time Triboro #4 played them, Medfield did not bring up any additional players. Triboro on the other hand, had only eight skaters and beat Medfield 3-1. In their last meeting, Medfield won by a score of 4-1 with two squirt "A" players scoring three of their four goals.
