A.Y.H.L. Round 1: KP/Walpole #5 3
Triboro #4 1

  • Saturday, March 21st - Triboro lost their opening game of the double elimination playoffs in the A.Y.H.L. at the North Star Youth Forum to KP/Walpole #5 by a score of 3-2. At the end of the first period the game was tied 2-2. Andrew scored Triboro's first goal assisted by Ryan and Graeham. Josh scored our second goal with assists going to Andrew and Tommy. Although Triboro played hard the rest of the game, an early second period goal by KP/Walpole would prove to be the game winner. Nick was solid in net and even though he was pulled for an extra skater in the last minute of the game, Triboro could not get the tying goal that was needed to send the game into overtime.

A.Y.H.L. Round 2: Triboro #4 1
Assabet #3 0
  • Saturday, April 3rd - A first period goal, just over a minute into the game, proved to be all that was needed for Triboro to stay alive in the A.Y.H.L. playoffs. Triboro skated hard from the opening face-off against a tough Assabet team but the goal by Josh, assisted from Robby H. and Andrew stood up for the rest of the game as Nick recorded his first playoff shutout of the year. The win eliminated Assabet and allows Triboro to continue into the third round.

A.Y.H.L. Round 3: Triboro #4 3
KP/Walpole #4 1
  • Saturday, April 10th - With a 3-1 victory over a tough KP/Walpole #4 team, Triboro Squirt #4 advanced to the semi-finals of the A.Y.H.L. playoffs at the North Star Youth Forum. Triboro opened the scoring just 13 seconds into the game on a hard shot from Graeham (assisted by Tommy). Later in the first period, Robby H. banged home a loose puck in front of the KP/Walpole net, finishing off an end to end rush by Josh. Graeham would close out the scoring for Triboro midway through the second period by beating their goalie on a breakaway. Nick was beyond outstanding in goal, barely losing his bid for the shutout early in the third period as KP/Walpole scored their only goal of the game on a power play.

A.Y.H.L. Round 4: Triboro #4 2
Tri-Valley #3 1
  • Saturday, April 17 - Triboro Squirt #4 advanced to the finals of the A.Y.H.L. playoffs at the North Star Youth Forum with a 2-1 victory over Tri-Valley #3. After a scoreless opening period, Triboro was the first to get on the board with a late second period goal by Josh (assisted by the hard work of line mate Robby H.). Midway through the third period, Andrew made it 2-0 Triboro after being sent in on a breakaway by Tommy and Graeham. Shortly after, Tri-Valley cut the lead in half, but behind the outstanding goaltending of Nick, Triboro held on for the win, earning a rematch against KP/Walpole #5 in the finals.

A.Y.H.L. Round 5: KP/Walpole #5 4
Triboro #4 0
  • Sunday, April 18th - Triboro Squirt #4 suffered a tough 4-0 loss in the A.Y.H.L. playoff finals at the North Star Youth Forum. Although disappointed at not winning the championship, having made it to the finals was a great accomplishment for the team. Back in the early fall of 1998, after opening the season with 3 losses and a tie, it seemed only a pipe dream that come April of 1999, Triboro would be playing in the championship game. But, that is exactly what happened due to the hard work of players; Ryan, Josh, Seth, Andrew, Tommy, Graeham, Robby H., Nick, Brad, Kevin, Chris, Robby S. and Joey. This capped off a fun, exciting and successful season for the players and their families.

A.Y.H.L. Round 1: Natick 4
Triboro #4 1

  • Friday, April 2nd - Squirt #4 took Natick to overtime in the first round of the N.Y.H.L. Playoffs only to suffer a tough 4-3 loss. Triboro jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first minute of the game on a goal by Andrew with Robby S. assisting. Seth then put Triboro up 2-0 with a hard shot from the point assisted by Tommy and Graeham. Natick cut the lead in half on a power play goal at the end of the first period. The only goal of the second period was from Natick, tying the game at 2 all. At the opening of the third period, Natick took the lead for the first time in the game forcing Triboro to play catch-up. At the midway point of the period, Triboro did just that, making it a 3-3 game on a goal by Robby H. on a great set up from Josh. With just over 3 minutes remaining in the final period, Triboro scored what appeared to be the go ahead goal. Unfortunately, the referee, claiming a Triboro player was in the crease before the puck, disallowed the goal sending the game to overtime where Natick scored the winning goal less than two minutes in. This closes out a successful season for the Squirt #4 team at the New England Sports Center. They ended in forth place overall with Nick and the team earning the lowest goals against in the Squirt C division.
