Things I've recently finished!

I spun some white mohair a long time back.  My friend Phyllis told me it was too boring, so I died it and started a top down sweater.  Then it took me a long time to find yarn to go with it to finish the sweater.  Then I gained weight so the sweater wasn't going to fit.  Now it's finally done and it fits great.  I think this was the oldest project in my basement (at least that had actually been started, there's a lot of yarn with dreams attached down there).  I'm pleased to finally have it done.

I haven't been much of a hat knitter up to now, but I recently made two.  Hats are small enough that you can finish quickly and they can be pretty wild.  It's a nice way to play with colors and stitch patterns without investing too much time.  I

My first hat design was created as a beginner project for the Craft Yarn Council CIP.    I thought it turned out to be a really cute hat, and my knitting students really liked it.

Picture to come.

The Madison Knitters Guild had a brown bag exchange this year.  We brought enough yarn to make a hat, then exchanged with an anonymous knitter.  You knit a hat, then exchanged back - so you get a hat knit out of the yarn you chose, knit by the anonymous knitter.  The yarn I had to work with was not what I usually would have chosen.  At first I thought it had to be Fair Isle, but in the end just decided to have fun.  I'm pleased with the result.  Hope the recipient is too!

I knit two Tomten jackets from 'Knitting without Tears' for baby gifts.  Two women in my spinning guild had babies in April.  The hat is for a big sister to one of the babies.

I am doing the Master Knitter Certification for TKGA, level 2.  This requires an argyle sock.  Here are my socks.  The one on the left has knitted in diagonals, the one on the right uses duplicate stitch.  The duplicate stitch didn't look very good, so I will submit the left sock.
