DAVID HARGIS WINS

COOKEVILLE, TN - David Hargis proved he is the man to beat by winning the Flag Day ‘Possum Roundup at the Bend of the River. Hargis has been hard to beat for the last several years and he made it no easier this match. His 2532 bested all the shooters. The second place went to Greg Atchley from Allons with 2502. It looked like Hargis had met his match until the last few targets and Hargis showed his stuff to maintain the lead. Third went to Scott Miller from Rickman with 2407. It was a close match and every one had a high score on one or more stages of the match.

New shooters swapped the lead back and forth. Matt Fitzmayer from Woodlawn ended up ahead with 1763. Keith Morris from Pleasant Shade managed to beat his granddad, Ronnie Morris from Nashville, with1470 to 1376. Jack Kinney the student at 2322 beat his coach Marty Goodman at 2130.

It was almost a 100 degrees and Greg Atchley managed to hit his first 100 on his second timed fire target with .22 rimfire.

The match consisted of 90 shots with the .22 rimfire, any center fire and any .45 ACP pistol.

And much fun was had by all, the good of the people requiring it.

The next pistol match sponsored by the Bend of the River is the Independence Day Pistol Match on July 10th. On June 19 there will be the Tennessee State Smallbore 3 Position Outdoor match at 50 yards.
