COOKEVILLE, TN - Jeffery Morris from Nashville won hands down
the Cinco de Mayo 'Possum Roundup high power rifle match held
recently at the Bend of the River. Morris managed a really nice
score of 763. In second lace and High Lady was Nancy Pardue
from Cookeville with a respectable 575. This was two points
higher than Pardue's last match.
The weather was simply beautiful. It was the first really
nice day since the first of winter.
The rifles used in this match are civilian versions of the
current military rifles that are well suited for this type of
shooting. You may purchase the WW II M-1 Garand from the Civilian
Marksmanship Program. You can get further information from Civilian

The match consists of 80 shots. There were 20 shots standing,
20 shots sitting rapid (10 shots in 60 seconds), 20 shots prone
rapid (10 shots in 70 seconds) and 20 shots prone slow fire.
It is all shot at 100 yards. Any one over the age of 15 is welcome.
