CLAIMS TITLE
COOKEVILLE, TN - Scott Miller from Rickman was the big winner in the pistol match held recently at the Bend of the River. It was not an easy win. All the contestants were having a good day. The lead swapped back and forth until the last shots. Miller ended with a 2497 – 57X out of a possible 2700. The second place went to Greg Atchley from Allons at 2471 – 54X. Third and forth place was also a close race with Jack Kinney from Cookeville took third with 2357 over Marty Goodman from Cookeville at 2238. Fifth place went to Bruce Andrews from Cookeville with 810 out of 1800.
There was a threat of severe weather most of the match It was cloudy and ugly looking. It never did rain and the last portion of the match the sun was shining really bright. Most of the shooters were shooting their average. Andrews borrowed a gun and increased his score by 0 points. Well there goes lunch money for a couple of years to get a new gun. Andrews is now shooting over a 100 points above last year at this time. Many of the regular shooters let the weather keep them from attending. It was a wise decision since the temperature was in the high 90Õs. Much fun was had by all and every one is looking forward to next monthÕs match.
The match consisted of 90 shots each with a .22 rimfire, any center fire and any .45 ACP pistol for a total of 270 and a possible score of 2700.
