DAVID HARGIS DOES IT AGAIN

COOKEVILLE, TN - David Hargis won the Independence Day ÔPossum Roundup held recently at the Bend of the River. David Hargis, the traditional winner, managed to beat the heat to come out on top. His score of 2495- 55X was enough to over whelm the pack. Greg Atchley from Allons was second with 2470- 59X. Scott Miller from Rickman was third with 2410-47X. The XÕs are center shots used to break ties.

It was unusually hot. Every one sweat a lot and stood in the shade when it was available. Atchley was the winner of the .45 ACP portion of the match. He beat Hargis 822 to 819. Hargis was the first to post a 100 in the match during the timed fire portion of the .22 rimfire match. Bruce Andrews from Cookeville is struggling to keep up with the other shooters but manages a small improvement each match.

The match consisted of 90 shots with the .22 rimfire, any center fire and any .45 ACP pistol for a total of 270 and a possible score of 2700.

The next 2700 pistol match sponsored by the Bend of the River is the Dog Days of August Pistol Match on August 7^th to be followed by a Smallbore 3 Position Outdoor match at 50 yards on August 14th.
