HIS WAY TO VICTORY
COOKEVILLE, TN - Jay Duncan from Cookeville was the winner in the 50 yard three position smallbore shooting match held at the Bend of the River. DuncanÕs score was 1119. This was 11 points better than last month and his best score ever. In second place and shooting for his first time was Sam Rajbundit from Nashville with 963. Third place went to Anne Rajbundit with a fine 950. This was up 21 points from last month. Forth went to Nancy Pardue from Cookeville with an 878. Pardue had a 173 point improvement from last month.
It was one of the cooler days this summer which made for a good shooting day. Every one had an improvement from last month. All the shooters had a good time and vowed to show up next month to try for a better score.
The match is a National Rifle Association sanctioned rifle match. The match was all slow fire with any .22 caliber rifle and any sights. Only one contestant was using a scope. There were 40 shots in each of prone, standing and kneeling positions.
