Overview

Round 1: 4 USASA winners + 4 USISL Premier League + 8 D-3 League Round 2: July 2-8 Round 1 winners + 8 A-League Round 3: July 23-29 Round 2 winners + 8 MLS Quarterfinals: August 13-19 Semifinals: September 3 Final: September ??
In the USISL, ALL Pro and A-League teams will be involved. The first four conference games for each team will count as Open Cup qualifiers. Highest point total send the teams into Round 1. These four games must be completed by the end of May or perhaps the first week of June. As the USISL season will be starting in early April, all teams are sure to have four conference games finished. It'll only be a matter of clarifying which games count. Starting in Round 1, the tournament will be a BLIND DRAW. For Round 1, the USSF will provide up to $5,000 for the 8 travel teams. After that, the home team will reimburse the travel team for expenses up until the semifinal, when the USSF will step back in, covering up to $10,000 for travel to the semifinal and final. The USSF is putting up $10,000 for the highest amateur finisher. If more than one team gets equally far, the money is split. The USSF is putting up $10,000 for the highest D-3 finisher. If more than one team gets equally far, the money is split. The luck of the draw could produce some high-stakes match-ups! The semifinalist and finalist split 25% of the semi-final and championship gate, a value to be no less than $20,000 for the semifinalist, and no less than $30,000 for the finalist. Upper figures are $30K for 2nd and $50K for first. Granted, this doesn't match MLS's $100K that DC collected this fall, but considering that Rochester walked away with nothing this year, this is a HUGE improvement.
