The Architecture of the Polk County Courthouse

Greek Revival architecture was recognized as a popular style used in building many public buildings in the early 1800's. Our courthouse has many characteristics of Greek Revival architecture, but the research by the Carter-Watkins architectural firm has found that the Courthouse is really early Italianate with some Greek Revival features.
