Notes for Conard William Whetsel
Census records show Conard William Whetsel and Nancy Catherine (Nannie) living in Hawkins Co., in 1890. 1900 Census records, recorded June, 1900, and taken by Census Taker Wm. M. Francisco, list "Conard W. Whetsell head of the home, 31 years old., born 1868, married 10 years," and "Nannie Catherine, wife, born Oct. 1869; age 30, married 10 years, and 4 children. " The records indicate that one other child had died. This information was not known by living descendants until 2005, when this Census record was found.

In about 1916, Conard, Nannie and sons moved to Whitesburg, Tn. (Hamblen County.) In 1928, John married; and , in 1930, Nannie died. About 1932, Conard moved to the home of his son, Carson. In 1917, several years after the death of Conard Whetsel's parents, land owned by Paulser Whetsel and Sarah Dove Whetsel was sold to the Kingsport Waterworks, Inc. to build a dam. Conard Whetsel and wife, Nannie Catherine Davis Whetsel were among the heirs who signed the contract for the sale of this land.
