The grave marker of John M. Brown was viewed and photographed by Whetsel family descendants, February 16, 2006, at the Upper Gragg Cemetery on Bays Mt. The name and dates are clearly visible, and a scripture verse can be read at the bottom of the stone. There is a headstone, with identification, and a foot stone. No other graves in this cemetery have identified markers. All other graves are marked with a simple fieldstone. (John was the first father-in-law of Susan Whetsel Brown Rowland, and the father of Adam, and possibly other sons.)
