Notes for Aaron DOVE
Aaron Dove owned the Dovesville store, tavern, mill, and still house. While eating lunch at the mill one day, he choked on choked on dried beef (jerky) and while coughing it up, he fell down the hole and broke his neck, killing himself. Daddy Sutterly, and a young boy (who told the story) were there from Peru, West Virginia, with a load of grist to grind, and saw Aaron choke and fall to his death. This was the nearest grist mill in the country, then, and stood by the river.
