Students will learn how to use rope and yarn to make baskets. They will wrap the yarn around a length of rope, using a figure eight to connect to the previous row. They will begin with a hot plate and then make a more complicated vessel shape, with they can decorate with yarn, feathers, and/or beads. This is a project we will use as filler. It is a long, tedious process and students can pick up the work while waiting their turn on other projects. They will leave their basketry at school until finished. |
