Tissue Paper Collage
Students will select a base color,
then determine analogous colors of paper. They will tear
or cut small pieces and glue them to a page, overlapping to completely
cover the page. They will continue to build layers of paper so
that interesting color mixes are achieved. Then students will
use the complimentary color to the base color and add
accents to the top.
The page will then be cut into pieces
appropriate for note cards or gift tags and glued to folded card
stock.
Students will make their own colorful
envelopes to fit their cards.
*Students who have done this exercise
in a previous class may use the same materials to make more complicated
patterns or pictures.
