Lino Cut
This is a reduction method of printmaking.
Very soft blocks (not really linoleum) will be carved with linoleum
cutting tools, then ink will be applied with a soft brayer and
printed onto paper. More cutting, then the process is repeated
as many times as necessary to print all the colors needed.
Students will work with the soft material
on a wooden "holder," which should go a long way toward
preventing accidental cuts. It will be necessary for students
to exercise caution while using the cutting tools.
