HISTORY*
A multi-dimensional
being of great power, Mularos is known by as many names as there are worlds
upon which he appears– the Sorrow of the World, the Suffering One, the
Paingiver. On some worlds, he is worshipped as a god; on others,
regarded as a great teacher. On still others, he is regarded as a
demon, and followers of his philosophy are persecuted as such.
Above all, however,
Mularos is a powerful and wise entity whose study of the art of pain and
its uses is unparalleled. Unfortunately, his teachings are frequently
misunderstood or worse, misrepresented.
Pain, Mularos teaches,
is worthless without purpose. A random act of violence against a
lesser being than oneself does not aid in growth. Let bestial, mindless
sorts feast upon infants and tread upon puppies and kittens. These
type of actions do nothing more than glut the ego and dull the senses,
and as such, are without merit.
The Mularosian philosophy
is that pain is the truest test of character. Strength can only grow
through the giving, receiving and sufferance of pain. Only through
such trials can the most fit rise to achieve their full destiny, and the
unfit learn how to grow. Only pain teaches true discipline, and hones
mind and spirit to their ultimate keenness. Those who rise above
such tests are the heirs of power, the true rulers of the society in which
they live.
Our name reflects
Mularos' own personal symbol; our device is the Eye of Horus, which symbolizes
the conjunction of the senses and signifies rebirth and the right of ruling
power. Together, they reflect the ultimate goal of Mularos' Gift
and the Cult of the Pierced Heart: to use the philosophies of Mularos
to achieve our rightful stature in the Rogue Islands and beyond, and to
teach the lessers how they may serve for the greater goal.
