On November 21, 2005, I wrecked my motorcycle. I was riding around a turn I had ridden at least a hundred times before and doing the speed limit. My crash was entirely my fault because I was simply not paying enough attention to what I was doing. I sustained only light injuries and credit my survival and my lack of serious injuries to the divine intervention of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No man will enter the kingdom of heaven without having a personal relationship with Him. If you know Him and love Him, GREAT! Spread the word! If you don't know Him, I'm not here to ram a Bible down your throat, but I hope you will take the time to study the Bible and find out what I'm talking about. You must make your own choice regarding Him, but you will make a choice. The choice is simple. Either you will follow Him or you will not. If you do choose to follow Him, you should read and obey the Bible, attend a Bible preaching church, and pray. If you choose not to follow Him, then according to His words written in the Bible, you are destined for a rather unpleasant place that we call Hell.
Who was Jesus Christ? In John 14:6, He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In John 10:30, He said "I and my Father are one." John 1 says "1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. ... 10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." In these passages, John makes clear that Jesus is claiming equality with God. In the first chapter of John, he makes it equally clear that he believes Jesus' claim of deity. Each of the other books of the New Testament of the Bible also supports this concept; Jesus is God - the creator of all.
Certainly there are many who do not believe Jesus' claim to be God. Some try to label him a prophet or a good teacher. Of course, if you consider these labels alongside Jesus' assertion that he is God, it is clear that he can not be a (true) prophet or a good teacher. No true prophet would claim to be God. A prophet is the messenger of God and for him to claim to be God would be the ultimate sin for the prophet. A teacher claiming to be what he is not clearly is not a good teacher. Simply put, if Jesus was not God; if He is buried in the tomb of the martyr in Kashmir; if He was not resurrected three days after His death; if He does not have the power to save men from Hell as He claimed, then He was just a wacko who managed to convince a lot of people to follow a big lie.
Obviously the Bible has a lot more to say on who Jesus is and why we need Him. If you would like to read what the Bible has to say, I highly recommend www.bible.com. If you have questions and would like me to help you find answers, please email me at danf@charter.net. I am not a professional preacher, theologian, or Bible scholar, but I love Him and I will do all I can to help you find the answers you need.
This choice is yours. Nobody can make it for you and in the end, you will be the only one held responsible for it. It has nothing to do with your politics, the color of your skin, your socio-economic status, what kind of music you listen to, where you live, what kind of house you live in, or what kind of car you drive. It is only about whether or not you will recognize that He is God incarnate and that God has the right because of his place as our creator to demand that we follow certain rules. I've made my choice, and I hope that you will choose as I have. If you don't, the truth remains true.
