Ettiene is the first Lord Chamberlain of Leurens, a position given him by the Imperial Governor Zorgesh I in 943.   He has served three governors now, but is in his 70th year and is not sure how much longer he can continue.

     The D'Aliers family back in the days of Empire were minor nobles.  The family suffered much after the fall of Anhkvaris, not the least of which was the loss of most of their estates to the new humanoid overlords.  Ettiene, being the youngest son, was sent off to join a religious order.  There he was found to be very adept at organization and memorization.      Ettiene having decided he was not satisfied with his life left the order and soon found employment as a scribe for the Mayor of Plassétin.  Over the years he advanced in position until becoming one of the city councilors, and some thought he was destined to be mayor.

     But Ettiene was not destined to become mayor of Plassétin, for he came to the attention of the Imperial Governor and was offered the position of Lord Chancellor.
