Helwise was born in the town of Caveis and at an early age was apprenticed to a master crafter (her parents were poor and any money they had went for a dowry for her older sister).  When her master moved to the city of Nouvelle Vhaston she went too.  Five years ago her master decided to retire and allow Helwise to take over the shop, paying it off in installments.  She is now close to owning the shop outright, and looks forward to that day.

    She has grown more concerned with the greatly increased orders for weapons and armor that the Grand Seneschal has made.  She has not heard of any great increase in the army of Nouvelle Vhaston and is torn between trying to notify someone about this.  So far she has come to the conclusion that it is best to keep quiet, after all even if she did find a way of reaching the seigneur she would probably find out nothing was wrong at all, and just lose the increased business.

    She has never married, not can anyone remember her ever being involved romantically.  The closest thing to family she has are her apprentices who she dotes over in a gruff sort of way.  She has heard stories of great dwarven smiths who have made a great masterpiece at the end of their careers, and is looking for any information on how this is done.

    She is of average height, with a well toned but not overly muscled body.  Her shoulder-length brown hair is kept tied up in a ponytail.
