Princess Marie, or as she likes to be called Her Imperial and Royal Highness, Princess Marie of Anhkvaris, Grand Dame of Nouvelle Vhaston, is the wife of Signeur Louis II.  She comes from an old but lesser noble house; the counts of Havret being ennobled in the late empire period.

    She dearly loves her husband, but at times gets frustrated with his lack of ambition.  She has fallen under the sway of the Grand Seneschal and has started taking on the airs of a powerful empress instead of the wife of a smallish landowner.  Her latest move has been to reinstate old imperial courtly positions, such as ladies-in-waiting and women of the bedchamber. 

    She is rather shortish being 5'3, but that is the only thing that can be said against her physically.  She is extremely attractive with very long black hair and deep amber eyes.  She is always elegantly dressed and seems to have an unofficial competition with Catherine de Saveiur as to who can wear the most dazzling jewelry, though neither would deign admit such a petty thing.
