Hradir
     Description : These people are the tallest of the three, averaging from 6' to 6'6".  All eye colors can be found, with blues the most common.  Their hair ranges from very light brown to dark brown.

     Origins : Of the three races of human found on Shadlen, the Hradir were the most advanced when they arrived.  Their legends state that their homeland had a great civil war, and that their side lost.  The survivors of the losing side fled their homes and found their way to Shadlen.  The immigrants never wrote down information on their old lands, not even what it was called, the only thing they mention is that no ship may travel for more than 2 days from the mainland.

        Takesh
    Description : Takesh have the middle range of height of the three (5'6 to 6') but are generally heavier in build than the other two.  They have dark hair and their eyes are usually ambers and browns.

     Origins : The Takesh seemed to have arrived in waves.  Oral tradition of the Ratheeri mention a sea people that came to trade, then started small settlements.  The story then goes on to talk of the sudden arrival of many of these people, and how they stole the land.  From Takesh sources we hear of their people having angered the god of fire who then destroyed their homeland.  Some scholars who have delved into all the old tales and records they can find, believe that the ancient Takesh lived on an island that was destroyed by volcanic action.

     We should also mention a people called the Eonlings, though they are not a true race (yet).  This people was started by one Eon, and albino Latheryn.  He spent his life preaching how he was chosen by the gods, and searched high and low for others who were albino.  It is not known how many children he had, but his descendants have continued the amalgamation of any albinos they can find (which were never enough).  It has now been several hundred years since the death of Eon, but his descendants number in the thousands, many of whom suffer from inbreeding.  They usually live in their own communities, though as always they look for any albinos from outside their communities to add.

        Ratheeri
     Description : Ratheeri are the shortest of the human races here, usually 5 to 5'6" tall.  The most tricking thing about these people is the color of their hair, which runs from a deep russet to a very bright red.  Any eye color is possible though shades of green are the most common.

     Origins : It is not certain where the first Ratheeri live, as they kept no written records, though do have a remarkable system of oral records.  From what can be gleaned from the information we do have (mostly from dwarven records) it seems they migrated over the north polar region from another land.  They quickly started to spread out once they got past the great waste and into the rich forested lands.  What may have come, and if they would have continued to spread will never be known as they quickly lost ground to the newer human arrivals.  It is not known where the true homeland of the Ratheeri is.
