Celestron C8 Deluxe, Vixon Lanthanum 10mm eyepiece, Nikon Coolpix4500 max zoom.These are the best five processed images out of over 900 taken on the night of August 26-27, just after midnight local time, UT shown on image above. This was approximately four hours prior to Mars' historic 60,000 year close approach to earth. Mars' angular size is 25.1 arcseconds in thse images. Image size varies due to zoom/magnification factor and post processing. South is up in all images.
