"Now that I look back on it, I know it was just a passing fad. And like all fads they seem like they will last forever when you are in the middle of them. But, eventually people will loose interest and move on to the other things that life has to offer. Some of us take longer to realize that and end up looking around and wondering... "what happened to everyone?". Of course you wouldn't be able to apply the same passion to something if you knew it was going to die out and you would be the last one who gave a crap. Yes, there are still clans and people who are devoted to them. But, I think you need some kind of catalyst to keep things going. Either a charismatic leader who drives the clan through every conceivable obstacle. Or, a group of people who have more in common than an email address and a string of chat room rap sessions."
