We have never won a NCAA Championship, but finished runner-up five times: 2005, 1974, 1967, 1929 and 1928. The last time we won the Big Ten Championship was 1973. 3 Big Ten Champions in 2005 was the first time since 1974 when we had 4 champions. We had 5 Big Ten Champions in 1965 and 1960. We also had 4 champions in 1974, 1967, 1955 and 1930. We've had 3 champions in 1961, 1940, 1938 and 1927. We have won 11 Big Ten Team Championships. Iowa has won 31 (1974-1998 in the Dan Gable era), Illinois 17, Indiana 13, Minnesota 9, Michigan State has won 8. Iowa has won 20 NCAA Wrestling Championships, Minnesota won two, and Michigan State and Indiana have won one each. Iowa has won 72 individual national championships with 262 All-Americans and Michigan has won 19 individual titles including 159 All-Americans, Michigan State has won 24 individual championships with 131 All-Americans, Penn State has won 20 individual championships with 154 All-Americans, Illinois has 20 individual titles, Minnesota has 18 titles with 129 All-Americans and Wisconsin has won 17 NCAA individual titles. Iowa has won 180 individual Big Ten Championships, Michigan has earned 115.
