This was my first attempt at writing and drawing a ongoing comic strip. The idea was to be a semi-autobiographical comic that shows how we dealt with our day-to-day life's and how a pregnancy changed all that. I scripted out several comics that slowly introduced the characters and the situation through the standard gag-a-day comic strip you would find in the daily newspaper. Of course, one of the things that having a child does to change you day-to-day life is kill any free time you might have. this FlatEarth never stood a chance and became harder and harder to work on a subject that was too personal. I have currently dropped this FlatEarth as a project. However, working on this did allow me to settle on a illustrative style. Most of my earlier comics, I was struggling to kind my place in storytelling and art of comics. this FlatEarth made me grow into the artist I am today. If you notice, there are TWO sections. The prequel is individual comics that were drawn before the idea of this FlatEarth came around. I really had not found a style and theme to stick with yet. While not part of the actual this FlatEarth series, they show what came before. |
