At the time I started this project I had been in a creative slump. I then read a posting on Talk About Comics from a web colleague, requesting "Artists Wanted". Alex Danner was the editor of Shades of December (no longer publishing, but archives are still up), is the current editor of Graphic Novel Review, a published play-write and is the writer of Picture Story Theatre (with my friend Bill Duncan illustrating). I e-mailed Alex and asked if he was interested in doing a comic with me.

Mug is a part of Alex's corporate poetry series with various artists. Illustrating a comic for somebody else forced me to work harder than I had before. With my own projects I could cut corners or delay working on them, but with illustrating somebody's script I responsible to put out the best quality product I could.

Although Mug was completed way back in Feb 2004, at the time decided to wait until more from the series have been completed before publishing. In the mean time, I created an antimated version in Flash. During this time, Alex posted the static version on his site. Here, for the first time is presented, Mug: Special Edition.
