What is Zwol? A difficult question, but I could tell you what it was not. There is this really cool comic that Greg Stephens created. Greg got to a point in the story where he hit a creative block. While waiting for the next comic, I started coming up with ideas of my own. Basically, my idea was to start a new character, a new story and then slowly introduce it back into the original storyline. I would write and illustrate the first few chapters and then eventually pass the comic back to Greg. However, after four strips I got busy and hit a creative block too.

So, I wrote out the script and enlisted the help of Eric F. Myers to illustrate. Eric has a wonderful creative eye, sharp quality to his work and an amazing ability to quickly produce comics on a regular basis. Furthermore, Eric was able to recreate the spirit of Greg's previous Zwol comics in this new series closer than my art style.

All eleven chapters of the Nouveau Chemin storyline have been published on Greg's site. What I hoped to accomplish is to take Selby out of the role of sidekick and allow her to grow as her own character. This series created a new beginning and new opportunities.
