The motor before paint, and before I started to clean it up...
The old BOV leaked profusely at 5-6psi. Unfortunately, it was
welded onto the pipe itself!
Not to fear, I took the car to Voller Performance Tuning (VPT) and had install a
First Gen. DSM Blow Off Valve & flange that I had laying around in the garage!
Old ------ New
Will post pics of it all nicely painted and such in a few
days. It looks great!
As usual... VPT did a great job! It is clean as heck on the inside!
Taking off the old, and welding on the flange
End of June 2006
Got some of the minor parts sandblasted and repainted recently. Just cleaning things up a bit where needed!
Starting with the Valve Cover, which was a complete mess!
^ ^ Before ^ ^
After
Sandblasted, then painted Satin Black with a little dark metallic silver
highlights on the lines only.
Ahhh, that's what we like to see!
Then I also did some other minor pieces, just to keep it all
clean!
(Everything in Satin Black)
Early June 2006
Did a little de-greasing...
Before.....................................After
AAAHHHhhhh, all nice and clean now!
I even cleaned up the small parts. Whatever didn't look very good, got taken care of!
The FMIC pipes where pretty ugly, so we blasted them clean, to get ready to be painted.
I even put the girlfriend to work... sandblasting the parts clean!

They have all been painted satin
black, and are awaiting re-install. I want the engine bay to be clean, but NOT
flashy. Almost everything is going to satin or semi-gloss black. NO gloss or
shiny parts. I used a very little amount of Gunmetal paint
for accent only, but only on the BOV and Fuel
Rail. Should be very clean when it's all done!
