36 year old female presented with lt. sided pleuritic chest pains, shortness of breath, and cough.
Pt. had dense lt. middle and lower lung infiltrates and a chest CT showing a pericardial effusion
and bilateral empyemas with pulmonary infiltrates: cultures of pleural fluid were positive for Streptococcus pneumoniae.
