Patient underwent extensive surgical debridement and drainage of abscess. Cultures grew Group F strep, Clostridium clostridiforme, Staph aureus and anaerobic strep.

Necrotic foul smelling ulceration on upper right arm with frank pus and surrounding induration.
39 y.o. active IVDU who injected heroin into her right arm, (hx. of licking needle), presented with fever/chills and a foul smelling necrotic ulcer draining frank pus. X-rays showed extensive soft tissue gas throughout right arm extending from just below the shoulder to elbow.
