  Van Spall Family History

My great-great-grandmother was Jane Maria van Spall from Cochin on the south-west Malabar coast of India. There were van Spalls in Cochin for many years the most well known being Jan Lambertus van Spall, who was the last dutch governor of the Malabar coast until he was ousted by the british in 1795.

Family Tree of the van Spalls in India

This extensive van Spall family tree was compiled in 1947 by the father of my grandmother's cousin, another van Spall descendant. The tree includes six generations of van Spalls in India, all descended from Peter Gerritz van Spall, born around 1723 in Utrecht Holland.
