Short Vita:

Since February 2002

I have been, together with my wife Elsa, involved with Private Franchising. Please contact me, if you would like to learn more.

Since August 1999

I have been working at New Focus-Wisconsin in Madison, Wis., as a Senior Scientist. My work has consisted of developing packaging processes for active telecommunications components and the analysis and documentation of manufacturing processes of such components.

1996 - 1999

I was working at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) in Cambridge, Mass., as a postdoc in Ron Walsworth's group. My work here comprises studying details of spin-exchange optical pumping of 129Xe and magnetic resonance imaging using polarized 129Xe polarized in such a manner.

1990 - 1996

I was an "Atom Trainer," that is, a graduate student under Thad Walker at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. There I studied ultra-cold collisions between rubidium atoms in an atom trap of the MOT type for my thesis research.

1987 - 1990

I was a physics major at the Universität Hamburg in Germany. I completed a Physik-Diplom while already in Wisconsin in 1993.
