OH YEAH, IT SITS MOSTLY, BUT AFTER I STARTED IT UP IT USED TO THUMP. WELL, I HAVE HAD 58 PONTIACS SINCE 1965, ALL OF THEM 'THUMPED' AFTER SITTING FOR A DAY OR TWO, SOME EVEN AFTER A 8 HOUR SHIFT. THIS WAS NORMAL, 55, 56, 57 PONTIACS DID THIS, OLDS, SOME BUICKS, BUT MOSTLY THE PONTIACS. OLDS USED TO HAVE LIFTERS THAT PECKED TILL OIL GOT THEM TIGHT. BUT THOSE PONTIACS ALWAYS DID THE 'THUMP'. MINE DOESN'T ANY MORE NOW. SOUNDS BETTER TOO. I HAD SOME LIFTERS THAT PECKED BUT THOSE QUIT ALSO NOW ON START UP. MAYBE ONE WILL BUT IT QUITS SOON. THATS WHAT I WAS AFTER, NO BEARING NOISE. SO I GOT THAT DONE.THANKS FOR GETTING SOMETHING DONE THAT GM SHOULD HAVE BACK IN THE 50'S. IT REALLY MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE. BOB (6/14/05)

I don't believe it took me 2 years to get around to installing this. Cannister filters are getting impossible to find. This conversion is a life saver!
