Does NOT FIT Chevy small block engines.)
This unique adapter allows you to use a modern spin-on oil filter cartridge on your original V-8 factory designed filter base. This is a bolt-on unit and no engine machining or modifications are required! It is designed to be both rugged and simple to install. Only a crescent wrench or similar tool is all that is required! The Photos page shows the adapter parts necessary and the installation sequence onto a typical cast oil filter base that is already on your engine. The shaft is precision machined from steel (screw machine or CRS) and the plate is fabricated from 5/8 inch thick aircraft grade (6061-T6) aluminum, both with modern CNC machines. Made in the USA for American cars. A fresh gasket and detailed installation instructions are included.
The oil passages in our adapter are larger than those in the factory base, allowing for unrestricted oil flow. Factory oil by-pass valves, oil pressure gauge lines, and oil pressure sensors are not affected or disturbed.
In addition to being significantly more convenient to change your oil filter, there are no more sludgy canister shells to clean. Spin-on filters are slightly smaller in diameter and 3 inches shorter than the old canister, making filter changes in the tight spaces found on some vehicles much easier. Modern spin-on filter cartridges are much more efficient at filtering out small abrasive particles due to improvements in filtering technology over the years. Using 20 to 40 year old NOS filters runs a risk of dry rotted paper elements (caused by acid residues from the paper processing) or separated glue joints. Also, newer spin-on filters have anti-drainback valves that are lacking in the factory original design. This will hold oil in the filter and oil galleys for instant oil pressure at engine start-up, thus reducing or even eliminating engine bearing knock and lifter clatter at cold start up due to zero oil pressure. The benefit of all these improvements is longer engine life!
You will also realize a cost savings at every oil change! Modern spin-on filters are available at a fraction ($3.50 on sale) of the cost compared to original style cartridges (typical cost: $9.95), such as the special order AC PF-122 cartridge.
Also eliminated is the time-consuming and frustrating hunt for these obsolete filters. You can now use the same common oil filters used on 1960 to 1980 Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac, and Pontiac designed V-8's: AC PF24, FRAM PH25, AC PF1218, the monster 9 inch 2 quart AC PF932, or any of hundreds of interchangeable equivalents. Most Chevy V8 (1968-1992) filters will also fit. And any oil changing service can now service your classic car like any other modern car!
Because of low volume production and extensive machining necessary to produce this quality product, the price is $ 57.00 each. Shipping is included free within the continental US (international shipping: add $ 6.00 each). Checks or money orders, are accepted. To place an order, go to our Order Form page.
Due to the recent increase in the cost of USPS Priority Mail shipping costs and the increasing costs of manufacturing, we anticipate a price increase of a few dollars in the near future.

IMPORTANT news about modern motor oils. Recently the Oil Industry has reduced or eliminated the additive ZDDP from motor oils with an API rating of SM or higher. This additive protected the high pressure camshaft/lifter interface from wear. Without this additive, your cam will go flat.
