METAL DETECTING

 CAMPING

I would like to introduce you to the wonderful world of metal detecting and also to the pleasure's of camping.  But first I will introduce myself and my wife.

We are David J. and Nancy C. Reed.  The original "Dirtfisher's".  We have been happily married for more than 40 years (August, 1965).  When we first married we camped a lot and had everything from a two-room tent to a 13-ft. Shasta hard shell to a truck with a camper cover.  We have one daughter, a son-in-law and one granddaughter.  We quit camping when our daughter was 7 or 8 years old and never camped again until last fall, when we bought a Coleman Laramie pop-up camper.  We have taken it to the beach, stayed at a local State Park and have been to the Smoky Mountains (Pigeon Forge, TN).  I am looking forward to going back to the beach so I can enjoy my other retirement hobby - METAL DETECTING.

I retired September 30, 1997.  My wife and daughter gave me a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II for Christmas that year.  I detected for a few years and found some old jewelry, coins and a lot of pull tabs.  I had to interrupt my metal detecting for a few years as I was caregiver for my aging parents.
