This is the only hobby where 99% of the time you come home with more money than you left with.

I have been metal detecting since Christmas of 1997.

That is when I got my first metal detector.  A Bounty Hunter Quickdraw II.  Since that time my wife has acquired a Pioneer 202 by Bounty Hunter and I have gotten a Garrett GTI-2500.  I now use the Garrett all the time and the QDII as a backup.  My wife's Pioneer 202 is the same as the QDII but sold through Wal-Mart.

As the sign above states, I was on fire for detecting for a number of years and then on

May 12, 2006, I had some kind of an attack and spent 5 days in the hospital.  The doctors

thought that it was a TIA, where stuff breaks lose in your arteries and acts like a stroke or heart

attack but dissolves before any permanent damage is done.  The first 24 to 48 hours

I didn’t know if I was going to make it or not.   I am sorry to

say, I haven’t detected since then.  I have found a few boundary stakes for friends and

my son-in-law who is a realtor but other than that, no detecting.

Some coins and other objects that I have found in the past are pictured on the Finds Page.
