Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water and stir into buttermilk. Add buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients & stir until moistened. Cover and chill. When ready to use, roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut out with 2 inch cutter and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 12 minutes. Dough will keep several weeks in the refrigerator.
Yield: 4 or 5 dozen.
