The following is taken from a photocopy of a Bible record published in 1974 in the Clearman genealogy book Flowers of the Field. The Bible was in the possession of Susah (Clearman) Walters, a daughter of Andrew Lesley Clearman, the youngest son of William Leslile Clearman. To help provide a sense of how the entries were added, I've tried to judge differences in the handwriting and annotate each entry to indicate in which hand it was written. It is my best attempt but I am by no means a handwriting expert and may have been fooled by changes in script that accompany old age. I have no idea who wrote these but the presence of different handwritings suggests that the entries were recorded over a number of years. The Bible passed to William Leslie's youngest son, Andrew. The birthdates of his wife and his oldest son appear in the Bible, so it is possible some of the entries were recorded within his new family.
