Services were held at 2 p.m. today at Quigley’s Funeral Home chapel for Mrs. Christine Collins Wall, 69, of Pinehills.
Rev. Paul Moore and Rev. Joseph Small of Bush, La. officiating. Burial was in Roseland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Wall died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Forrest General Hospital after a long illness.
She had lived in Hattiesburg for 50 years and was the wife of the late W.M. Wall. She was a charter member of 28th Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Henry Yarbrough, city; Mrs. Esther Breland, Mendenhall; Mrs. W.A.
Lumpkin, Carriere; Mrs. Carrie Quave, Biloxi; and Mrs. D.W. Callahan, Jackson; two sons, W.C. Wall, and R.G.
Wall, both of Hattiesburg; three brothers, Malon D. Collins and Earl C. Collins, both of RFD 7; and G.B. Collins of
New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. D.B. Hollingsworth of Petal, and Mrs. George F. Hollingsworth of Union; 22
grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral rites for Mrs. Sarah Alice Collins, 78, who died early this morning at the home of her eldest son, J.E. Collins, in Union, Miss., will be held Thursday morning, at 10 o’clock at the Providence Baptist church. Interment will be made in the Providence cemetery.
Mrs. Collins was a widow of the late E.T. Collins, a prominent farmer and dairyman of Rawls Springs. She was reared in Newton county, later moving to Hattiesburg. Mrs. Collins had been ill for some time. The body was brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. D.B. Hollingsworth in Petal, where it will remain until the funeral.
Survivors are: five sons, J.E. Collins of Union, W.O., E.C. and G.B., all of Hattiesburg, and M.D. of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. G.F. Hollingsworth of Union, Mrs. Christine Wall of Hattiesburg, and Mrs. D.B. Hollingsworth, Petal. Mrs. Collins is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Elijah Collins, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Collins, was born Jan. 17, 1881 and passed away Oct. 11, 1958, age 77 years and 9 months
He was married to Georgia Arnold Oct. 9, 1910 and to this union were born 3 children, Mary Elois, who died at an early age; Oree, of Union, Miss., and Jenner L. Collins, Pensacola, FLA. He is survived by three grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Malron (?) Collins, Earl Collins, Hattiesburg, G.B. Collins, New Orleans, La.; three sisters, Mrs. D.B. Hollingsworth, Mrs. Tena Wall, Hattiesburg, and Mrs. George Hollingsworth, Union, and a number of neices [sic] and nephews.
Mr. Collins united with Pinckney Baptist Church at an early age. He served as deacon of this church for 50 years in addition to being church treasurer for 47 years.
Funeral rites were held from Pinckney Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 1958. Rev. J.L. Clark, pastor, was in charge, assisted by Rev. C.O. Lindsey.
With Union Funeral Home in charge, the following served as pall bearers: V.G. Gordon, J.D. Vance, Will Taylor, Coyt Leach, Durval Rigdon and Ed Chamblee.
Mr. Collins was well liked in the community where he had many friends and will be sadly missed by his relatives and these friends.
The choir under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Lester White snag “Precious Memories” and “O! Come Angel Band.” Miss Harriet Manning, in her lovely way, sang “Sunrise Tomorrow.”

L.A. Collins, 80, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday at his home in Eatonville after a long illness.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery with Masonic rites. Hulett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The body will be taken to the church at 9 a.m. Saturday and will lie in state until service time.
Mr. Collins had lived in this area for 40 years. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and Eatonville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. B.L. Mixon and Mrs. F.E. Walters, city; and Mrs. C.V. Bugg, Jackson; four sons, John W., D.R. and J.L. Collins, all of Hattiesburg; and A.K. of Red Bank, N.J.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. C.W. Walters and a brother, Andrew Collins, both of Laurel.

Flora Elizabeth Hollingsworth, ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Hollingsworth of Petal died at the South Mississippi Infirmary, Sunday morning at 7:30 o’clock following an operation for appendicitis several days ago.
She is survived by three sisters, Lecial, Essie Faye, and Leva D. Hollingsworth, and her father and mother.
The funeral services were conducted from the Green’s Creek Church today at 10 o’clock by the Rev. C.N. Ware, local pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church, and interment was made in the Green’s Creek Cemetary [sic].
The honorary pallbearers consisted of 14 girls from the third grade class of which the little girl was a member of at the Leaf River Consolidated School.
The active pallbearers were: T.P. Hensarling, S.B. Vance, J.L. Gibson and M.E. Mapp.
Mr. Hollingsworth, the father of the little girl is well known in the city having served as mail carrier. At present he is mail carrier on Rt. 1. The family is well known in the Petal Community. A large crowd attended the funeral services at the Green’s Creek Church this morning.

Brenda Collins, whose 16-month fight for life after being critically burned around the compassion and admiration of all who heard of her, lost her battle Thursday night when she died unexpectedly at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Collins, RFD 7.
Released just two weeks ago from Baptist Hospital in Jackson, where she had undergone six skin graft operations, Brenda seemed on the road to recovery. Tuesday she fell while taking her walking exercises and had been in bed since.
Happily, Brenda celebrated her 12th birthday Sunday at the home of her grandparents. A family friend said Brenda had a wonderful time with three birthday cakes, about 20 children in attendance and lots of gifts.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rawls Springs Baptist church with Rev. Billy Green, pastor, officiating.
The body was to be carried this afternoon to the home of Brenda’s parents at 200 West Seventh St. It will be taken to the Rawls Springs church at 3 p.m. Saturday and lie in state there until time for services.
Burial will be in Providence Cemetery, with Jones Funeral Home in charge.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.T. Collins, a brother, Tommy, a sister, Lanelle, all of Hattiesburg; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Collins of RFD 7; and Mr. and Mrs. Van Runnels of RFD 1; her great-grandmother, Mrs. H.S. Mixon, city; an uncle, Jesse Collins, Cape Canaveral, Fla; and an aunt Mrs. Dixie Lou Stringer of Orlando, Fla.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home chapel for Malon “Doc” Collins, 83, of Hattiesburg, who died Saturday at Methodist Hospital.
The Rev. Douglas W. Rouse will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Phillips, Dub Cochran, Barney Sullivan, Harvey Smith, Cleste Lyons, Bud Gray, Lloyd Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Oriental Band of the Hamasa Temple of Meridian.
Mr. Collins was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, a Shriner of the Hamasa Temple of Meridian, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Hattiesburg Shrine Club. He was a farmer and owner and operator of the Rowal Cafe until 1969.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jean Kutack of Jackson, Mrs. Bettye Baria of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren and a numer [sic] of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MOSELLE - Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today at the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Moselle for John W. Collins, 85, of Hattiesburg, who died May 2, 1987, at Methodist Hospital.
The Rev. Larry Gafford will officiate. Interment will be in the Providence Cemetery in Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers will be Forrest Walters, Wayne Walters, Grady Collins, Gerald Collins, Rankin Collins and Jimmy Kampbell.
Collins was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a Mason.
Survivors include one brother, Kermit Collins of Providence Community; and two sisters, Verona Walters and Gwendolyn Bugg, both of Hattiesburg.

MOSELLE - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at H.L. Jones and Son Funeral Home for Earl C. Collins, 88, of Hattiesburg, who died Saturday morning at Happy Acres Convelescent [sic] Home.
The Rev. Billy Mitchell will officiate, with burial following in Providence Cemetery.
Mr. Collins, a life-long resident of the Rawls Springs community, was a member of Rawls Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Mixon Collins, two sons, Stephen of Hattiesburg and Jessie Collins of Forth Worth, Tex.; a brother, M.D. Collins of Hattiesburg; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Services are scheduled for 3 p.m.. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg for Stephen T. Collins Sr., 67, of Rawls Springs, who died Sept. 15, 1992 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson.
The Rev. Billy Greene will officiate. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Kelly, E.P. Quick, Earl Tilghman, Jason Kutac, Boyd Lindholm, John Prine and Stanley Easterling.
A lifelong resident of Forrest County, Mr. Collins retired in 1980 from Bush Construction Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving three years in the Philippines during World War II. He was a member of Rawls Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Madris Collins of Rawls Springs, one daughter, Lanelle Collins Burkle of Groves, Texas; one son, Stephen T. Collins, Jr. of Rawls Springs; one brother, Jess Collins of Fort Worth, Texas; on [sic] three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.

| Brenda Collins in Hospital |
Brenda Collins, 10, is in poor condition at Forrest General Hospital, where she is being treated for burns suffered this morning at her home on RFD 7.
Her attending physician said she has second degree burns of the back and legs to the knees, left arm and hand and lower left leg.
It was reported that her housecoat and nightgown caught fire from the bathroom heater. It happened about 6:30 a.m.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.T. Collins.
