James Germany to Henry Hanna

Whereas Joseph Thomas did on the seventh day of January, eighteen hundred and Eighteen make execute a title to James Germany, whereby he the said Joseph Thomas conveyed to the said James Germany the whole, right, claim, title {and} interest, which he the said Thomas had vested in him to the North East quarter of Section thirty Seven, in Township two, in range ____ East of the basis Meredian [sic] line with the reservation of ten acres the marks and boundaries of which is minutely described in the mentioned title. Now know all Men by these presents that I James Germany of the State and county aforesaid had {in} consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred dollars to me in hand {paid} before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipts where {I} do hereby acknowledge, bargain, sold, and released, and by the these presents do bargain, sell, and release unto Henry Hanna of the State and County the above described quarter Section of land with same reservation as the one above mentioned, which said quarter Section of Land I do hereby bind myself , my heirs, Executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend unto the said Henry Hanna his heirs and assigns against myself, my heirs, Executors and administrators fully claiming or to claim the same In witness whereof I have here set my hand and Seal this first day of January one thousand {eight} hundred and nineteen.

Hannah Elizabeth Germany, wife of James Germany, in my presence made her mark to this within deed of conveyance for purpose above named. Certified by me this 1st day of January 1819.

Beginning at a state standing on the North West corner of the tract from which a Pine bears T50 E. 18 Links, and running thence East, 39.08 chains, to a State, from which a Beech Stands South 27 Links, thence South 40.60 chains to a stake standing in the bend of a Bayou, thence West 39.08 chains to a Stake, and thence North 40.60 chains to a Stake, the place of beginning - containing one hundred and fifty eight acres, and 66 hundredths of an acre, and having such shape form and mars as are represented in the above Plat.

I certify that the foregoing is a correct copy from the field notes of the above tract of land, Surveyed by me on the 2nd day of Decr 1818.
